CONNECTING DIFFERENT CULTURES AND LEARNING METHODS OF SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT
As part of Erasmus plus project Filipina Kabalin i Marina Majnarić from Zagreb, Croatian kindergaden DV „Petar Pan” were part of Job Shadowing project located in town Tres Cantos next to thr city of Madrida in Spain.
Organisation was in partership DV Petar Pan, Zagreb and C.E.I.P. Aldebaran, Tres Cantos, Spain.
The dates of mobility were from 17.4. until 21.4.2023.
Job title: Early childhood educator
Main task: Education and care for children from one to seven years old
The content of the professional development
was aimed at monitoring and getting to know the work in the field of early education and the customs of conducting various activities with a concentration on the topic of sustainable development following cultural peculiarities.
One of the goals for the teachers was to communicate in English with teachers and other school employees. Also, one of the relevant points was to monitor the daily work and the way children learn about waste disposal, ecology, environmental protection, sustainable development, renewable energy sources and outdoor learning.
By participating in this education, teachers gained insight into knowledge that will help them raise their own work and the quality of teaching on these topics to a higher level.
The goals was to learn how to plan the curriculum and activities to satisfy curriculum, and how to recognize and evaluate the learning results of the children in the group.

- By participating in this Job Shadowing professional development, the teachers strengthened their competences, which will enable them to upgrade their teaching direction and the way of carrying out activities.
- After the return, a meeting was organized where, with the help of pictures and video presentations, the experience gained during this professional training was conveyed to the colleagues.
