ECOLOGICAL EDUCATION AND SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT
As part of the Erasmus+ project, teachers Tea Ogorevc and Marcela Draganović participated in the course
"Environmental Education outdoor education in non formal settings" in Cyprus in the city of Nicosia.
The organizer of the course was STANDOOutEduCiprus while the course was held in the period from October 25 to October 29, 2021.
The main goals of the course were:
• Learning in nature
• Experiential learning outdoors
• Healthy lifestyles through active learning in a natural environment
•Acquiring knowledge and skills to solve environmental problems
•A way of acting to preserve and enhance the environment
It was a wonderful experience to participate in this course because the host made an amazing effort to introduce us to the way of learning in nature in Cyprus.
We had the opportunity to experience daily experiential learning in a natural environment (parks, mountains, beaches, eco-farm) and acquire knowledge and skills for solving environmental problems (animal farm, solar energy, composting, waste sorting)
Additionally, we had a chance to use natural environments for games and activities and exchange the experiences of the participants and acquire new ideas. We were connecting and cooperating with people of the same interests, connecting on various platforms. Lastly, to acquire knowledge about the culture of the host country and other participants in the course.
