ICT FOR TEACHING
Mobility: ICT for Teaching
Organizer: English Matters
Time and place: from 19th to 25th of November, 2013, University of Jaen, Spain
We have practiced this course through various tools, programs and resources that serve to teach children. Some of them are: creating poster presentations in Glogster, creating games in Educa Play and making quizzes at Kahoot. We have also practiced through several sources of online materials (Mega, Dropbox, Google Drive). We've come across various photo editing programs, creating videos, and creating presentations like Prezi, Pixlr, Pearltrees, Prism, Wordart. We've created animation presentations including final work. We have learned collaborative learning programs like Padlet and Moodle and smart board applications: Seesaw, Twiddle, Activ Inspire.
The course is fully implemented as presented by the organizer. Teachers have presented programs and tools we have practiced on a daily basis, both independently and in small groups. For the final work we had the task of presenting our ICT Portfolio. In this way each group gained the opportunity to show the skills they had mastered and to present their personal experience of the course. In addition to the work, several joint trips were realized which contributed to a better mutual acquaintance and connectivity of the participants. We visited several historic sites the city of Jaen (Arabic Spa, Cathedral, Castle of Santa Catalina), two small towns under the protection of UNESCO Ubeda and Baeza, and La Alhambra in Granada.
25 participants from several European countries participated in the course: Romania, Poland, Norway, Italy, Greece and the two of us from Croatia.
Participating in this course enriches our IT skills, communication and presentation skills. We especially congratulate the organizers for their professional approach to work and the way they created the "Erasmus spirit" among the participants.
